The SCLA is an international event created to promote knowledge, research, and innovation in Smart Cities with special attention to initiatives in Latin America. The event addresses topics such as Sustainable Cities, Environment and Technologies, Healthcare, Smart Agriculture, Smart Energy, Smart Transportation, Smart Data, Smart Infrastructure, Smart Mobility, and Smart IoT Devices.

Professor at the University of Antwerp and director at the research centre Imec, Belgium. He is leading the IDLab Antwerp research group (100+ members), which is performing applied and fundamental research in the area of communication networks and distributed intelligence. His personal research interests are in the domain of low-power machine learning and its application to wireless network optimization.
Enviromental engineer, and holds a graduate degree in Environmental Law and a Master’s degree in Law with emphasis in mining, hydrocarbon and energy regulation. She is the national coordinator of the Sustainability Strategy at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana UPB, where she has led projects that have positioned the University as the first neutral-carbon university in Latin America, as certified by the Colombian Institute of Technical Standards and Certification ICONTEC. Ana María has experience in sustainable production, environmental law, and industrial ecology; and has worked in environmental consulting in the public and private sectors, where she has led projects of tax incentives for environmental investments, environmental impact studies, and organizational environmental management. Since 2013 she has been teaching several undergraduate and graduate courses in topics related to sustainability.
